TO KNOW JESUS (Part 2)

Why did Jesus Die?

Why would Jesus allow Himself to be killed? Well after God created man (Adam and Eve) they sinned. The punishment for sin is always death. Until man sinned there was no death in all of creation. Before Jesus came to earth, people had to receive forgiveness from God with the blood of an animal sacrifice (death). When Jesus allowed Himself to be killed He became the sacrifice for our sins. His blood can cover our sins from God's eyes. So through His death we are forgiven.

"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep." John 10:11

How can You be Forgiven Now?

All that you have to do is believe that Jesus is God, and that He came to earth as a man and died for your sins. And that God the Father raised Him back to physical life. Once you believe that just ask Him to forgive you, to come into your heart as your Lord and Savior, and to cover your sins with His blood. That's all there is to it.

If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God. 1 John 4:15
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Romans 10:9-10
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 1 John 1:7
You need to understand what making Jesus your Lord and Savior means. It means that you are going to follow Him. This is what He commanded us. He will help you, but you have to be willing to follow Him.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me." Matthew 16:24

Don't Know How to Change?

Let Jesus take care of that. All you have to do is repent of your sins and ask Him to forgive you and live in your heart as your Savior and He will help you with everything else. If any person had to change himself before he was forgiven there would be no hope for anyone. This is because we cannot change on our own. However, don't take this to mean that God does not care what kind of lifestyle you live. He does care and He expects us to try to live a holy life. My point is that we are incapable of doing so on our own, but God will help you if you will attempt to live right and allow Him to control your life.

A PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING

Psalm 138

The Lord’s Goodness to the Faithful

 I will praise You with my whole heart;
Before the gods I will sing praises to You.
I will worship toward Your holy temple,
And praise Your name
For Your lovingkindness and Your truth;
For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.
In the day when I cried out, You answered me,
And made me bold with strength in my soul.
All the kings of the earth shall praise You, O Lord,
When they hear the words of Your mouth.
Yes, they shall sing of the ways of the Lord,
For great is the glory of the Lord.
Though the Lord is on high,
Yet He regards the lowly;
But the proud He knows from afar.
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me;
You will stretch out Your hand
Against the wrath of my enemies,
And Your right hand will save me.
The Lord will perfect that which concerns me;
Your mercy, O Lordendures forever;
Do not forsake the works of Your hands.

HOW TO KNOW JESUS (Part 1)

How to Know Jesus

Who is Jesus?

If you want a personal relationship with someone you need to know who that person is. So lets talk about who Jesus is.

Jesus is God, one of the trinity. The trinity is something that we humans sometimes have a hard time getting our brains around. It is God in three persons, the Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. The important part to remember is that they are all God. God has always been, He has no beginning and will never end, therefore Jesus has no beginning and no end. See what I mean about it being hard to really understand? Well what is important is that you believe it, not that you totally understand it.
Jesus came to earth as a baby, born to a virgin (Mary). How could this happen? Well the Holy Spirit caused it to happen. After His birth, Jesus was still God, but He was also a human. Unlike us who are born as sinners, Jesus was born sinless. He lived a sinless life here on earth. That does not mean that his life was different from ours, He was affected by sickness, pain (physical and emotional) and He was tempted by Satan to do things which would have been sinful had He done them.
Jesus was a Jew. The old testament of the Bible is the history of the Jews up to the birth of Jesus. It foretold His coming. The problem was that the Jews thought that when He came He would set up His Kingdom on earth and rule from then on. Jesus did not do that, He came as a man and taught the people His Father's will. Many Jews rejected Him because of this, and finally they put Him to death on a cross like a common criminal.
"Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners" 1 Timothy 1:15

WHAT GOD WANTS FROM US PT2

WHAT GOD WANTS FROM YOU Pt2
Day 6

II. HE WANTS OUR LOVE
    A. That fact has always amazed me
        1. Why would omnipotent God want a puny human's love?
        2. I'm not alone in my amazement!
            a. Psalms 8:3-5- "When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, {4} What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? {5} For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor."
    B. He wants our undivided, unreserved love!
        1. Deuteronomy 6:5- ""You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength."
        2. Matthew 22:37- "Jesus said to him, " 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'"

Gracious God,
Thank you for the gift of today.
Refresh me. Invite me to discover your presence
In each person that I meet
And every event that I encounter.
Teach me when to speak and when to listen
When to ponder and when to share.
In moments of challenge and decision
Attune my heart to the whisperings of your Wisdom.
As I undertake ordinary and unnoticed tasks,
Gift me with simple joy.
When my day goes well, may I rejoice.
When it grows difficult, surprise me with
New possibilities.
When life is overwhelming, call me to
Memorable moments
To restore your Peace and Harmony.
May my living today reveal your Goodness
And may YOU JESUS be pleased with me; In no other name I pray but YOUR HOLY NAME JESUS
Amen.

WHAT GOD WANTS FROM US Pt1

REMEMBER NOW ITS ONLY 3 CHAPTERS PER DAY & AS YOU EAT FOOD FOR THE BODY ITS EVEN BETTER WHEN YOU EAT FOOD FOR YOUR SOUL SO EAT IT UP OK

DAY 5

NOW;    WHAT DOES GOD WANTS FROM YOU?     Pt.1.

Micah 6:6-8
Apparently, people have always needed to know what God wants from them. It's true that He has revealed what He wants ... and expects. But people have attempted life on their own terms, and what God wants of them gets "lost" in the darkness of human wisdom and striving. Then comes another reminder (sometimes in a deafening or dreadful way) of what God wants of us. My purpose this morning is simple: I want to think about this matter of what God wants from us.

FIRSTLY HE WANTS OUR ATTENTION.

    A. People forget God!
        1. Deuteronomy 8:11-14,17 - ""Beware that you do not forget the LORD your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today, {12} "lest; when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them; {13} "and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold are multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied; {14} "when your heart is lifted up, and you forget
        the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage....then you say in your heart, 'My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth.'"
        2. Psalms 50:22- ""Now consider this, you who forget God, Lest I tear you in pieces, And there be none to deliver:"
        3. Perhaps they remember His name, His existence: but in practice in fact they forget Him. Deuteronomy 8:11- ""Beware that you do not forget the LORD your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today,"

    B. Listen to God!
        1. Matthew 4:4- "But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'""
            a. this verse comes out of great human need ... such need as can cause one to "forget" God.
        2. Matthew 17:5- "While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!""

A lot of us forget GOD. One of God's most requirement from us is our attention and trust me HE knows how to get it in Proverbs 1:7 it says The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction, now fearing God is a positive rather than a negative thing; fearing God is good because it saves us from caving into our own sinful nature. So today lets all develop a God fearing heart and turn our attention to what He wants and build that relationship with HIM He so desires!!!
